What We Do

Empowering Children for a Brighter Tomorrow

Khandbari Child Development Society (KCDeS) is a modest effort at promoting complementarity between the state and society in furthering the cause of children. Established in 2024 under Nepal’s Societies Registration Act, KCDeS aims to support the development of children especially those from underprivileged backgrounds. Its focus areas include opportunities in education, health, and income generation. People from across the social spectrum can join hands reflecting a true spirit of volunteerism. Membership is open to like-minded individuals and organizations.

KCDeS has an endowment fund enabled through a generous donation from a socially minded family. Its activities are supported through this fund. KCDeS has recently launched a scholarship programme for students from marginalized backgrounds. Currently, this covers five students in Sankhuwasabha schools.

Building Foundations for Lifelong Success

Khandbari Child Development Society Extends Educational Support to Peace for Dalit Foundation

Khandbari Child Development Society is pleased to share that, as part of our commitment to promoting education and social equity, we have provided a cash contribution of NPR 100,000 this year to the Peace for Dalit Foundation, located in Mahuwan, Sakhuwaparsauni Rural Municipality–5 of Parsa District. Established two years ago, our organization has been working to support the education and overall development of children from economically disadvantaged and marginalized backgrounds. In the previous year, we mobilized donor contributions to support five deserving and talented students from Sankhuwasabha District, assisting them with their education up to the Secondary Education Examination (SEE). We have continued this commitment by allocating NPR 100,000 annually to support students’ educational needs.

Peace for Dalit Foundation is a respected non-governmental organization actively working in Madhesh Province for the rights, dignity, and empowerment of Dalit and marginalized communities. The foundation’s work in eliminating caste-based discrimination and promoting social justice, equality, education, and freedom strongly aligns with our own values and mission. Its ongoing initiatives, including free tuition classes and learning improvement centers for Dalit and marginalized children over the past five years, are particularly commendable.

Through this contribution, we aim to support the foundation’s efforts in improving access to education, health, and learning opportunities for children who need it most. Khandbari Child Development Society remains committed to continuing such social initiatives in the future and to working collaboratively toward the empowerment of children and marginalized communities.

Foundation Holds Its First Annual General Meeting, Outlining Past Achievements and Future Initiatives

The Foundation successfully conducted its first Annual General Meeting (AGM), marking an important milestone in its journey. The meeting served as a meaningful platform to reflect on the Foundation’s progress, strengthen transparency, and outline a clear vision for the future. During the AGM, various key agenda items were discussed in detail, including a review of the previous year’s activities and records, presentation and approval of financial statements, and an assessment of the Foundation’s overall performance. Members and stakeholders actively participated in constructive discussions, offering valuable insights and suggestions.

The meeting also focused on the Foundation’s future plans and priorities. Among the key initiatives discussed were expanding support services to senior citizens and strengthening programs aimed at assisting needy individuals through the provision of clothing, basic shelter, and food. These initiatives reaffirm the Foundation’s commitment to social responsibility, compassion, and inclusive community development.

The Foundation expresses its sincere gratitude to all members, supporters, and well-wishers for their participation, trust, and continued support. With shared commitment and collective effort, the Foundation looks forward to further strengthening its impact and serving vulnerable communities in the years ahead.

Scholarship Fund Established for Underprivileged Students of Sankhuwasabha

KCDeS established a scholarship fund for Underprivileged Students of Sankhuwasabha. The fund has been carefully designed to support children who demonstrate academic promise but face barriers due to poverty, orphanhood, helplessness, or belonging to marginalized and underrepresented groups. By providing an annual scholarship of NPR 20,000 to five students each year, the fund ensures long-term educational support that extends until the completion of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE).

Through this noble effort, KCDeS has planted the seeds of opportunity and hope, ensuring that deserving students are not denied an education due to circumstances beyond their control. This contribution goes beyond financial assistance—it is a statement of belief in the potential of every child to rise, thrive, and one day give back to their communities. This scholarship fund stands as a testament to the transformative impact that compassionate individuals can have when they choose to invest in future generations. It also sets an inspiring precedent for community-led initiatives that seek to bring lasting change through education.
